Birth Tub Rentals

Mercy Oceans Midwifery has Birth Pools for rent. We have 2 different pools currently available. There is the Aqua Doula Birth Pool and the Birth Pool in a Box professional regular size. Birth Pools can be used to relieve the discomforts of birth and pregnancy.

Benefits of Water for Birth and Pregnancy

• Allows freedom to move easily in labor and birth

• Has been shown to speed up labor

• Reduces blood pressure

• Pain relief

• Softens perineal tissues and can reduce risk of tearing

• Some women report pain relief equivalent to epidural

Aqua Doula Birth Pool

• Easy set up

• Soft yet firm sides for comfort and support

• Built-in heating system to help keep water warm

• Large enough for 2 people

• Holds approximately 150 gallons of water

Included in the rental of the Aqua doula:

• Disposable personal liner

• Floating thermometer

• Submersible water pump

• Hose for emptying

• Bucket to help with the disinfecting of the pump and hose

• Checklist of items

You will need to provide:

• Your own hose to fill the tub

• Faucet adapter if needed

• A piece of plastic to sit under the tub to protect your floor

• A debris net ( fish net)

Cost of rental is $250 for 4 weeks plus a refundable security deposit. Security deposit is $250. The security deposit will be refunded 7 days after return of the tub.

Birth Pool In a Box Professional regular size

• Birth Pool in a Box is an inflated pool.

• Holds 2 people comfortably

• Firmness and Height easily adjusted to meet the laboring moms needs.

• Has handles in various locations to help the laboring mom move around or get leverage.

• Has a cup holder to keep to help maintain hydration

Included In Rental of Birth Pool in a Box:

• Disposable personal liner

• Floating thermometer

• Electric Air pump

• Submersible water pump

• Hose for emptying

• Bucket to help with the disinfecting of the pump and hose

• Checklist of items

You will need to provide:

• Your own hose to fill the tub

If you are interested in renting a Birth Tub please call the number below. Tubs are rented on a first come first serve basis. Home birth clients of Mercy Oceans Midwifery do not need to rent a tub. We provide the tubs as part of the homebirth package.
